High-Level Academic Dialogue at University of Colombo

The Federation of Film Media Culture Entertainment (FFMCE) recently organized a strategic academic meeting to explore innovative solutions for national development through Artificial Intelligence (AI), global education standards, and sustainable tourism models.

The high-level discussion focused on expanding educational scholarships, academic exchange, and professional training opportunities for Sri Lankan students, connecting local academic institutions with leading South Korean universities and corporate bodies.

The discussions took place at the IHRA (Institute of Human Resource Advancement), University of Colombo, and was attended by key stakeholders representing academia, international education providers, and technology companies:

The meeting laid the groundwork for joint programs that integrate artificial intelligence into educational curriculums and promote eco-friendly sustainable tourism models between Sri Lanka and South Korea.

The collaborative framework aims to address critical gaps in professional skills and vocational training by introducing South Korean expertise to Sri Lanka. The key initiatives include:

AI in Education & Research

Developing joint research initiatives to study the pedagogical benefits of AI tools and smart digital classroom networks.

Initiative 02

Tourism & Hospitality Training

Designing professional courses in sustainable tourism development and cultural trail management, guided by Prof. Suranga Silva.

Initiative 03

Scholarships & Language Training

Offering certified Korean language courses through Sejong TOPIK Lab, paired with fully-funded and semi-funded scholarships to study in South Korea.

Initiative 04

Global Vocational Skills Transfer

Developing specialized vocational courses in collaboration with South Korean colleges to prepare Sri Lankan youth for global employment markets.

Ongoing Vision for Cross-Border Educational Growth
